Mr Ola Torrång Dipl Architect SAR/MSA, member of Swedish Association of Architects. Has previously worked 3 years as an architect in Tokyo 40 years ago. Jacob Torrång, student assisting in measuring old houses.

Internship period

Internship starting August/September 2016 and lasting for 2-3 months (or more depending on person)

Projects

Mainly one family houses: new designs, alterations and extensions. Measuring up existing houses.
 In addition, the Intern will be involved in activities as attending meetings with clients, making site visits, visiting building exhibitions as well as sharing aspects of the Interns own professional and cultural background with us.

Salary

This is an unpaid appointment aimed at promoting the exchange of knowledge, skills and experience for the mutual benefit of the architectural profession in both Sweden and Japan. As such, you will not receive any salary or financial compensation from our office

Accommodation

We arrange for accommodation with a Swedish family nearby. Rent approximately 2500-3500 Swedish crowns per month for a private room. The Intern can make use of kitchen, bathroom, laundry and internet connection

Misc

Free lunch. Free use of bicycle and mobile telephone. Free bus/tram card (similar to the Suica card in Tokyo)

Free time

We arrange various sightseeings in Gothenburg and to the Swedish countryside.

The Intern will have the opportunity to observe a wide range of aspects relating to architectural design and practise in the field of one family houses and summer cottages by widening the knowledge about Swedish architecture and building regulations as a base for the future career of the Intern.
